Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Handoff is a product of Inncode, operated by Shelter Labs LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use Handoff, how we use it, and who we share it with.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information. Your email address, username, and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and basic profile details.
  • Your files. The HTML pages, Markdown documents, and images you upload, along with version notes and settings such as file passwords (stored as a hash).
  • Usage information. Pages you visit, files you open, and actions you take in the Service, plus technical details such as your browser, device, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We also record marketing parameters in links you follow to our site.
  • Billing information. If you subscribe to Pro, Stripe collects your payment details and billing address. We receive your subscription status, renewal date, and the brand and last four digits of your card. We never receive or store your full card number.
  • Messages. If you join our waitlist or contact us, we keep your email address and what you send us.

2. How We Use Information

We use this information to provide and secure the Service, host and serve your files, manage your account and subscription, enforce plan limits and our Terms of Service, understand how the Service is used so we can improve it, and communicate with you about your account.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Who We Share It With

We share information only with service providers that help us run Handoff, and only as needed for that purpose:

  • Stripe, which processes payments for Pro subscriptions and may act as the reseller or merchant of record for your purchase. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare, which stores the files you upload.
  • Google, for Google sign-in and Google Analytics.
  • PostHog, for product analytics.
  • Our hosting and email providers.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, the Service, or others.

4. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, to protect forms against abuse, and for analytics. You can block cookies in your browser, but signing in will not work without them.

5. Public Content

Files you upload are reachable by anyone who has the link unless you protect them with a password. Do not upload information you do not want others to see.

6. Retention and Deletion

We keep your account information and files while your account is active. When you delete a file, we remove it from storage. You can ask us to delete your account and its data by contacting us. We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can view and update your account details in Settings, and manage your subscription and payment details through "Manage billing". Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information. To exercise them, contact us.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we will let you know through the Service or by email.
